17th-Century English School Antique Oil On Canvas Portrait Of A Gentleman, circa 1690
A 17-century English school antique oil on canvas portrait of a gentleman.
The sitter and artist are unknown. The painting is clearly undertaken by an accomplished hand.
The gentleman is portrayed with his hair shoulder length, with an ornate lace jabot and black tunic.
Presented in an associated, contemporary gilt frame.
Provenance – Sourced from The Republic of Ireland.
Condition – Relined. Cleaned and revarnished historically. Please refer to the images for further information. There are two minor marks to the paint surface (see images 5 & 6). This portrait has real presence!
