A Rare Late 18th-Century Antique Iron & Oak Cellar Candlestick
A delightful and rare late 18th-century wrought iron cellar candle holder / candlestick with turned oak handle.
Possibly French origin.
The candle holder was hooked over a rail above a line of casks to provide light whilst the wine from an individual cask was tasted.
The iron and oak have both gained a lovely age-related patina and are in good, robust condition.
Provenance – Unknown.
