Pair of 15th Century Style Antique Carved Oak Figures – Ex-Beverley Minster by Repute

A pair of 15th-century style English antique carved oak figures of humorous characters, by repute originating from Beverley Minster, Yorkshire, England. Given the style of the carving, whilst in the late medieval manner, these are more likely to have been carved during the 19th century. The Minster does have several early characterful carvings in the Nave, and these may well have influenced the wood carver who made the two now offered here for sale.

Presented on associated oak wall brackets of a similar period.

Each has a label verso which states “Oak carving from Beverley Minster”.
