Description
A Fine Pair of Late 15th-Century / Early 16th-Century English Antique Carved Oak Corbels in the Form of Characterful Heads
A charming pair of English antique oak carved corbels carved on the form of characterful male heads.
One bears a cheerful smile. The other, more of a grimace!
Late 15th-Century/early 16th-century. By repute, originating from a timber-framed merchants house in Norwich, Norfolk, England, long since demolished.
Each is depicted wearing a hat with stylised hair and full facial features with lovely colour and patination. The heads display incredibly well.
Provenance – See above.
Condition – Please refer to the images. Good overall.
