Fine Turkish Kilim Konya Obruk
A finely woven Turkish Kilim from Obruk near Konya.
Obtained along with another stylistically similar rug (DB491), it was almost certainly made as a wedding gift.
Predominantly red, green, blue and black colours with akimbo motifs symbolising motherhood within the central field, below a large single medallion. The main boarder features repeating protective eye motifs.
An attractive rug in excellent condition that could be used as a floor rug or wall hanging.
