Small Vernacular Cherrywood Serving Table Base With Three Drawers

A really good colour provincial cherrywood serving table dating from the late George II or early George III period.

The table with two plank top and applied mouldings to the underside above three drawers of equal size. The drawers of rebated butt joint construction with carved cock beading and pierced brass handles and escutcheons. The apron with panels to either end all raised on simple circular legs.

An incredibly attractive table with fabulous patination and colour from over 250 years of use. Whilst there is some historic worm damage and early repairs, the table is structurally sound and in good usable condition. It’s time worn appearance adds tremendous aesthetic appeal.

Of relatively small proportions, the table would work well as a console table or sofa table.
